石は、地球が産み出した”奇跡の産物”。だからこそ、このことを強く意識した在り方を模索し、実行していきます。

Meet the Designer

Midori Shibutani

 

A digital creator whose work is based on the unique theme of stonemason without stone.

Through her travels since childhood, she has been fascinated not only by natural stones, but also by Japanese stone cultures such as Karesansui and Suiseki, viewing stones. She mixes inspiration from her travels with modern design and digital technology to create a fantastic and unique stone-inspired world.

At the university, she developed the world's first smart textile that can change color at will. She has also presented advanced fashion and interior works using these textiles, which have been widely acclaimed both in Japan and abroad. After graduation, she worked as a web, graphic, and interior designer before launching IIRIDO. With a design process that incorporates mindfulness, she always designs with high quality materials while minimizing the impact on the environment.
